Child Safety Standards

These standards apply to mise en place (also styled mise.en.place or MEP), the cooking and food-sharing app published under the developer name Flying Studios. The service is operated by a sole trader based in Victoria, Australia.

Our standard

MEP strictly prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. We have zero tolerance for content, accounts, or conduct that sexually abuses, exploits, sexualises, or endangers a child.

Prohibited content and conduct include:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including real, computer-generated, altered, or illustrated material where prohibited by applicable law
• Grooming a child for sexual purposes, or attempting to arrange sexual contact with a child
• Sextortion, sexual blackmail, or coercing a child to create or share sexual content
• Child sex trafficking or otherwise offering, recruiting, facilitating, or exploiting a child for sexual purposes
• Soliciting, sharing, distributing, advertising, linking to, possessing, or requesting CSAM
• Sexualising a child, sexual comments or advances directed at a child, or any other sexual exploitation of children
• Using MEP to facilitate, encourage, normalise, or conceal any of the above

These rules apply to every part of MEP, including profiles, usernames, posts, comments, recipes, photos, videos, Bites, links, and other user-submitted material.

Reporting in MEP

Signed-in users can report a post, comment, recipe, Bite, or user profile from inside the MEP app:

1. Open the item's More or … menu.
2. Select Report.
3. Choose the most relevant reason and, if useful, add details.
4. Submit the report in the app.

Reports are sent to MEP's moderation system for human review. If you cannot use the in-app report flow, email our monitored child-safety contact at yourmiseenplace@gmail.com with the username and enough information to locate the content.

Do not download, save, copy, or email suspected CSAM. Report the account or content location instead. If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or law enforcement.

How we respond

We review child-safety reports and take action appropriate to the evidence and risk. Actions may include restricting or removing content, restricting app features, suspending or terminating accounts, preserving relevant records where permitted or required by law, and cooperating with relevant authorities.

When MEP obtains actual knowledge of apparent or confirmed CSAM, we will act promptly to restrict or remove access and report it as required by applicable law to the appropriate authority. Depending on the circumstances and jurisdiction, that may include the Australian eSafety Commissioner, Australian law enforcement or the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation, the US National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, or another competent regional authority.

We do not promise that every report will establish a violation. Decisions are made from the available evidence, with child safety as the priority and subject to applicable legal obligations.
